Viewing recent changes in chronological order

Open tbuckler opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

I can see the list of changed files by tree or list, for both commits and work-in-progress, but what about sorting by time, so I can see the most recent changes on top? I'm constantly looking by alphabet for the last file I just worked on! Doable?

Cheers,

Can you provide more details about where you would like to see this?

Thanks for looking at this. I hope you like the idea:

In COMMIT GRAPH — COMMIT GRAPH DETAILS viewing the "Working Changes" tab, under "Files Changed" presently you can now choose one of three views: - View as Tree - View as Auto - View as List

The "View as List" appears to be a random order.

My request is that the "View as List" have the option to sort by alphanumeric AND file modification timestamp. Mostly I'd like to set it to show most recent edits on top :) Right now it looks like: +/- oldChange.ext
+/- recentChange.ext +/- oldOldChange.ext Order seems random

What I'd like: +/- recentChange.ext
+/- oldChange.ext +/- oldOldChange.ext because it's the most immediate containing folder that's the most relevant (too me)...

======================== But also since we're talking about that Working Changes List: Obviously it's the file name we're dealing with, but the parent folder directory hierarchy could also be shown in reverse order, as an option: Right now it looks like: +/- MyFile.ext Project/subfolder/codefile +/- AnotherFile.ext Project/secondfolder/definiti… Right after each file name is a very repetitive base name ("Project" in this case) and sometimes the file's parent name is truncated

What I'd like: +/- MyFile.ext in codefile in subfolder in Project +/- AnotherFile.ext in definitions in secondfolder in Pr… because it's the most immediate containing folder that's the most relevant (too me)...
