Incorrect metrics for Argon-Italic
Font does not render properly in kitty in Italics:

That happens when the font in question is not properly monospaced and its italic/bold faces have different metrics than the regular space. Use a better font or widen the cell width in kitty.conf

Further investigation reveals that Neon does not suffer from the same issue:
Something about the metrics on Argon seems broken, particularly on the letter f.
Kitty has a habit of resizing or clipping characters to fit within their designated character width, which unfortunately presents a lot of issues with many fonts, including Monaspace. I'll look into this for the next release, but in the past we haven't been able to work around this behaviour in Kitty.
In the meantime, can you confirm which version of the fonts you have installed? If you have texture healing enabled, try turning calt off and seeing if that improves what you're seeing.
