[1.2] Letter `i` displayed differently after enabled `cv10`
OS: Windows 11
Editor: VS Code
Font: Monaspace Argon Var (other fonts also has this bug)
Ligatures setting: only cv10 enabled
Did some testing, i will display differently after these characters: #$%&@MTWmw
I was a bit confused this morning as well. It seems like the alternate i and l are now the default in the otf version of Argon (the one I'm testing right now). Enabling cv10 returns the i and l to the pre-1.2 versions. Was that the intent?
@Xiangze-Li thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. This is an oversight in the intersection of texture healing with character variants, and I will work on a fix for the next release.
@pkazmier yes, this is intended. We decided to make the more legible options default in all designs, but still keep the original versions accessible for those who prefer them.
Hi, first of all thank you for the hard work and these amazing fonts! My favorite ones are Argon and Neon.
My question is: cv10 returns the "i" and "l" to prev versions in Argon but this is not the same for Neon which is the opposite. Personally I love the originals :D, perhaps cv10 could be the new design and the originals the defaults for both just for consistency?
Thanks again.
@enriquemartinez-emc cv10 gives you alternate i and l forms, as well as a few accented versions of i and l.
// cv10 (Alt Small L/I): l ĺ ľ ļ ŀ ł i í ĭ î ï ị ì ī į ij
cv10 as it relates to Argon and Neon is like swapping their i and l forms.
Argon w/ cv10 = Argon + Neon's i and l
Neon w/ cv10 = Neon + Argon's i and l
Fixed in 1.3!
