Can't select any Monaspace font in MobaXterm

Open terabyte-gc opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

The MobaXterm application doesn't detect/list any of the Monaspace fonts.

I am sure they are installed properly because phpStorm and other apps can see, load, and use them just fine. (The ligatures don't work, but that's another whole issue, and it's been reported multiple times already.)

It also can't be selected on GNOME Terminal. I think that is because it doesn't detect them as a monospace font.

I can confirm Monaspace fonts (version 1.000) are not recognized as monospaced by all applications. I tried this, but the output is empty:

fc-list :spacing=100 | grep Monaspace

GNOME Tweaks and Tilix allow setting and using Monaspace fonts; BlackBox and GNOME Terminal don't.

It seems this project has been abandoned. No releases, posts from the developers, or even any new commits.

It seemed like a nice project, but the management/execution is severely lacking. I've gone back to my previous font. 😔

Not abandoned!! The 1.1 update should have fixed this issue. Can you confirm if MobaXterm detects the fonts now?

I'm away until next week. I'll test once I'm back. 👍

I confirm that this problem has been solved in gnome terminal. Thanks! 🥳

Ops, I completely forgot to test it on the weekend.

I tested just now:

  • It works if I use the separate/single OTF files.
  • It DOESN'T work if I use the variable TTF files.

So yeah, I can use the OTF files.
