The default selection is "None" and because of that the page won't be deployed.

If I knew I would have done the change myself. I created this issue because I don't know which page it would be, or if it is actually any page on this repository. This repo is the closest I could find to pages.github.com but I don't even know if I reported this issue in the correct repository.

If you could say where the step needs to be inserted in the docs article, and what the instruction should say, that would be really helpful.

I did say that in the issue itself. I didn't say the step but I think should be the one right before you are told to push your code.

It's there in the documentation. I'm going to close this issue.

In fact, https://pages.github.com/ now redirects to https://docs.github.com/en/pages so this issue doesn't make sense anymore anyways.
