[BUG] Failure To Install Visual Studio In Another Location
Versions
- GitHub Extension for Visual Studio version: ...
- Visual Studio version: 2019
What happened
Having a hard time and wasting a lot of time here trying to install VS in another location. My main SSD is full. So I selected my external HDD G:\ but the installer stubbornly wants to install the SDKs (Shared path) stuff in C:. This is a bad software design. And I'm having this issue since I started to try to work with Visual Studio many years ago and I always stop using it because of this non sense issue. Many people have requested a solution to this issue in many forums and this has been ignored. I even tried the Symbolic Link or Junction thingy. It looked like it was going to work because the installer created folders and files in my G:\ HDD, but then when i'm going to install the workload (SDKs, tools, etc.), it don't let me select a location for the Shared folder (is grayed out) and when I try to install it says C:\ is out of space.
P.S: I don't have this issue with Android Studio. I can move everything anywhere, the SDK, the emulator, the tools, etc.
