Enhance Communication of Privacy Practices
Objective: Improve user understanding and trust in Gitcoin Passport's privacy-preserving measures.
Background: Feedback from the Zuzians in the Zuzalu round highlighted a gap in user awareness regarding our platform's privacy features. While we have made technical efforts to ensure privacy (not tracking IP addresses or collecting personal data), this commitment is not fully perceived by our users.
Task:
- [ ] Assess current communication strategies on privacy, especially focusing on how we present our non-collection of IP addresses and personal data.
- [ ] Design and implement clearer, more engaging ways to communicate these privacy aspects on the platform. This includes but is not limited to text enhancements on stamp sidebars, especially for web2 stamps, to explicitly reassure users about our data handling practices.
Expected Outcome:
A comprehensive strategy that effectively communicates our privacy measures, increasing user trust and understanding.
Impact:
- Enhances user trust in Gitcoin Passport by transparently communicating our privacy standards.
- Addresses specific feedback from our community, demonstrating our commitment to user-centered design and privacy.
Acceptance Criteria:
- A clear, actionable plan for improving privacy communication across the platform.
- Implementation of initial changes to stamp sidebars or other user-facing elements as quick wins.
- Development of longer-term strategies for ongoing communication and education about our privacy practices.
