I think it was after resolving conflicts. I could also not saved the resolve.

Thanks for reporting this. Do you know if you pressed "save" after resolving the conflicts?

And maybe we could also see the backend logs - this should make clear where exactly the "Expected to be in Edit mode" was coming from, which in turn should be a hint at how that can be reproduced. Thank you.
