Possible UI improvement (not really an improvement, just something nice)

Maybe a nice custom titlebar for Linux instead of the native titlebar.

Just a nice visual aspect. Same concept as VSCode's custom titlebar which makes the app just feel a bit nicer.

Thanks for the suggestion!

For reference, here is how it looks like on MacOS:

VSCode on Ubuntu 22.04LTS looks like this, with comparison to normal system Windows.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to install (due to lack of Arm64 builds) or build GitButler on Ubuntu, but maybe somebody else could contribute a picture of it running in comparison to VSCode.

@Byron Here is the titlebar of GitButler on Linux (Ubuntu) image

Thanks! Could you also show the title bar of VSCode? To me it didn't look particularly special on Linux, but I am pretty sure I am missing something here.

@Byron Sure, here are some screenshots for VSCode:

Custom: image

Native: image

Just a note, I did customize the titlebar a bit in the settings but in short, the custom titlebar looks part of the app while the native one is stock to all other ones if that makes sense.

Thanks, I understand the difference now! On Linux, the VSCode custom titlebar seems to require some customisation to enable, too. On MacOS the difference is immediately clear though.

In any case, I am glad we could collect some screenshots as reference for when somebody picks this issue up.

This could also apply to Windows - again, GitButler vs. VSCode: image
