investigate using .editorconfig

.editorconfig is a well used way of sharing common configurations that are used across different editors & would help with onboarding new users to this repo. Optionally, or instead, in the Readme, perhaps add a bit of detail about any prefered editor the project is using

@kilasuit I think this project isn't that strict about coding styles, so at the moment I don't think we need a .editorconfig.

I'm sorry, we currently don't feel the need to add and maintain this. You're always welcome to contribute this in a PR, but at the moment this is not planned.
