State of the repository
Hey everyone,
I was thinking about contributing to this, as I have recommended the game to some of my apprentices and found some things that aren't that great explanation wise. Seeing that no PR's have been merged in the past seven months has me wondering if it's even any worth trying to contribute.
What is the current state of this repo and furthermore, what are the plans for the future? The "main" maintainer seems to still be active on GH.
Hoping I can get a timely answer on this.
Other than that, have a great week everyone. :)
Hi Digirik!
Seems like a good idea to ask this! I'd summarize it like this: @bleeptrack and I developed the game back in 2020/2021, during a six-month project phase. Afterwards, we only had limited capacity for maintenance, and realistically, I don't think that will change much. Like you, I'm a bit sad to see PRs not getting the attention they deserve.
I'll try to put some focus on the game during the coming week, but unfortunately, I can't make any promises how far I'll get.
I'd encourage you to first briefly note down your thoughts on what you'd like to see improved in an issue. And if you're motivated, we could see a path where we give people from the community the rights to review and merge PRs! Let us know if you'd be into that.
Hope that clears things up a bit :)
Hi Blinry,
thank you very much for that summary! I think it would be a great idea to involve some of the community to keep this project alive/up to date, as the game is a great learning resources in my opinion. I have to admit that I'm definetly not motivated enough (at the moment) and more in a "whenever I feel like it" mood when it comes to open source contributions currently.
But I think I will definetly tackle some of the things that are on my mind with some pull requests and everything thats out of reach for me/I'm unsure about how to acomplish I will create issues for.
For some closing words, don't feel pressured to find time for this project just because some stranger asked about it, in the end it's still about having fun when it comes to these types of projects. ^^
Have a great rest of the week :)
