Larger terminal / hide message area

If you start a sandbox, and maybe in the game generally, the terminal window feels undersized. I wish you could hide the message area in order to get a much lager terminal. Now, you can't even read the output of more than a small entry in git log.

In a dream world it might be nice if you could dynamically resize the layout grid, but I realize that's probably a larger task.
