Provide Advanced Search
The search field does what's supposed to do but it's very basic.
I'm thinking about implementing an advanced search dialog where you can search for more than one keyword combined, for example: search name="Anthony" & City="London". And maybe other features like to specify which column (field name) to search for or which data type.
This is also an open discussion in case you have suggestions about improving the search feature, please post it here.
Very good idea! An option to include all the existing collections (or to define certain collections) in the search would be helpful too!
The idea of an advanced search is indeed very good. At the moment I a missing the possibility to combine search terms or to search only specific fields or a combination of fields. I have many entries in my database which are very similar and without advanced searching it is a lot of work to dig through dozens of search results manually. Adding this feature would be a great benefit in using symphytum!
At least in version 2.6, comboboxes are not included in the search fields results. If this is expected behavior, I would like to see [including comboboxes in the searched content] it as an enhancement. If this behavior is not expected, I would assess it as a bug.
