donation

Hey @gillesdegottex , I was flying on https://liberapay.com and thought that it could be great for people wanting to give a bit of €/$ to the project. I don't know nothing at all about what do you think about donations system, then I thought it'd be worthwhile to mention it here!

I've nothing against donations, though I cannot give more time to FMIT than I do and I don't want to receive money for the little things I do. I would also be a bit afraid in giving the money to other developers (even though some of you would deserve it!), mainly bcs it would raise the question of who would get and how much ...

However, we could setup an FMIT account on liberapay.com and use the money to pay some services for FMIT (CI? pay for extra translations? pay for a new logo :D , I don't know). I.e. use the money for FMIT, not for the people behind FMIT.

What do you think guys?

As FMIT is somewhat "feature-complete", I think making small, self-contained task-oriented bounties is a good idea. I don't know how liberapay works, but maybe we could use something like bountysource? @gillesdegottex could create some bounties for specific tasks and donators could choose which bounties to support.

disclaimer: I'm involved in the liberapay project and I'm trying here to let people know that there are several ways of using a LP account.

Just suggesting something which is great IMHO with liberapay: you can set up a liberapay account for FMIT, then people are able to make some donations to this account and fill up a virtual wallet. You can then, up to you, choose to withdraw the money to your bank account OR, and this is a suggestion, choose to flick this money onto other projects. And I'm sure that some projects that you like have a liberapay account (Mastodon, phpMyAdmin, Pitivi, GIMP, Framasoft,... and a lot of those).
