Have you thought of installing VNC on this image - or a derivate image so Mac/Windows users can also make use of this without X11 server/Cygwin?

That's a good idea. Do you have an example image that uses VNC that I could take a look at? If it's not too complicated then a derivative image might be the way to go.

Of course, If you fancy giving it a go yourself, then I'd happily look at a pull request ;-)
