Issue with locking achievements but then not being able to unlock them again

So I decided to lock my achievements for Warface so I can get the feeling of unlocking them again. I manage to reset all my data (which I do for all games I've done this with so that they unlock properly) and all of a sudden I get the in-game medal that signals me to get the achievement and I don't get it. I'm like, okay let me try getting two different achievements. I get the two in-game medals that are supposed to give me achievements but I don't get them. So I quit the game go back into the achievement manager and I just click on the three achievements that I was supposed to unlock. All of a sudden it gives me an error, "Sorry, but this is a protected achievement and cannot be managed with Steam Achievement Manager." If this was a protected achievement and it couldn't be managed in the first place why let me manage it? This only happened with this game, with other games with SIMILAR things that tie to achievements (like Warframe where it gives you a banner when you've done an achievement and then you get the achievement on Steam) all I had to do was create a new account and it solved the issue. It seems like this one is different.

It sounds like you reset your stats/achievements, which is not beholden to the permissions on specific achievements?

Not much I can do about that situation, I could add a warning to the reset dialog if any protected achievements/stats are detected perhaps.
