Cant reset achievements or stats

Ive tested with other games and cant find anything else but 1 game is not working properly.

Superhot VR - when I want to reset (lock) the achievements, it does not lock them. It pops up again saying they have all been unlocked. I can unlock achievements just fine, but locking them does not stick. Editing stats results in an error, and doing a full reset still does not work.

When doing a full reset, strangely, 3 specific achievements do reset. Maybe the achievements are all tied to the stats, and since they arent resetting, the achievements keep sticking.

I'm also having this issue with two games. The achievements are tied to the stats. I cannot reset the stats no matter how many times I try which causes the achievements affected to continue to unlock. I don't know what to do about it. :(

Edit: I also realize they're increment only. I wish we could reset these achievements. I also know of another game that I believe has incremental achievements, but doesn't say so in SAM.

I'm having a similar issue. I've been locking achievements and cleaning my account. One game I was unable to do it. Quadrant M4, a stupid game that gives you 5000 achievements. When I try to lock all of them, I get a notification saying the achievements were locked but I also get steam notifications saying that I unlocked them. Edit: When I try to "Reset", both achievements and stats, it briefly shows the achievements as locked but then updates with them unlocked.

I am at the same boat i can't reset the Parries stat for Cuphead as a result every time the game loads the achievements tied to those stats will unlock. Furthermore locking the achievements does not work and will unlock every time because of the stats.

If the stats show the same value after reset in SAM, then that's something on Steam's end and SAM can't change that.

If the stats reset, and then running the game puts those values back, then you need to delete related save data in the game itself too.

Thanks for the answer. In my case even after resetting the parries stat show the same value and the associated achievements still unlock so it must be a Steam thing.

Hi i just created account just for help people suffering from this issue, i found solution myself after many years.First you need to turn auto updates off and also steam cloud sync from steam settings, then install and launch that specific game.After you install,you need to just press new game then save that game and turn on cloud sync again.Then you can reset all progress including bugged ones with reset_all_stats in steam console.For how to open and use steam console, search internet.
