i18n: Add malay translation
This PR adds the Malay (ms_MY.UTF-8) translation. All strings have been translated and double-checked for accuracy and natural Malay language usage. If anyone has any feedback or notices any issues with the translations, please let me know!
I don't speak Malay, but I notice that many of your strings feature title-case similar to English. It was found from other translation PRs that many languages other than English don't use title-case; does Malay use title-case or were you simply trying to copy the English source?
@00-kat Malay often adopts loanwords directly from English (e.g., "komputer", "fail", "tab", "log masuk"), so many technical terms remain quite similar. I’ve already fixed the title casing—initially, I followed the English style, but after your comment, I’ve switched to follow the proper Malay style instead.
Hi @z4q, sorry for the wait. The PR generally looks good at first glance, but there are a few things to be checked off before this can be merged:
- Could you rebase this PR and resolve conflicts? It's possible that the .pot file changed significantly and you will need to add new/remove old translations.
- Do you volunteer to be on the localization team for this locale to be pinged on string changes?
- It would be good to have at least one other Malay speaker who can review this (ideally they would also be interested in joining the localization team; our rule of thumb is to have at least 2 people per locale 🙂).
I'm closing this PR as stale for now due to no response + lack of interest from other Malay speakers for over 5 months. Thanks!
