Spoofing location services?

As an additional privacy measure, could we allow users to fake their location for websites that ask for location services? Websites would be able to tell that the user is faking because the user's location wouldn't match their IP address, but it might be an additional means of privacy for users.

This sounds interesting. We are currently discussing how to deal with location information for the sake of providing location based results for the Ghostery Search and so far we're leaning to only use approximate location. Perhaps a browser wide approximate location would be a better choice.
