Recommended Extensions
Last year, California passed a law requiring websites to state if they sell your personal info; however, most of the time, the link is a link at the bottom of the page. Would it be feasible to add a feature to the browser that automatically notifies you on sites like these, or would this functionality be better saved for a third-party extension?
An extension I found that does this is https://github.com/swow2015/Who-sSellingMyInfo-. Full disclaimer: I have been actively contributing to this and have published it on the Chrome web store. It works on (though it has not been officially published for) Firefox. Might having something like this (maybe as an indicator built into the pre-packaged Ghostery extension) be feasible for the browser, or should this be an optional third-party extension?
If this is a standard Firefox extension in their extension store then it can be installed in the Ghostery browser. In the future we may want to showcase our own recommended addons for improving privacy (cc @tillhouse).
