Tab trapping does not work in Safari

In Safari 15.4 on macOS, the "Trapping tab focus within the modal" does not appear to function; tabbing leaves the modal to the background page even in the "Demo Modal" on the micromodal website.

Did you try alt+tab in Safari (said the demo modal to me)?
