ANR: Ambiguous Name Resolution in getUsers. How TO?

The users are typing "firstName lastName" but sometimes "lastName firstName" to search on.

As far as I understand the ANR filter is efficient way to query AD in this situation.

However, how one is supposed to construct a call to findUsers?

An example would be appreciated.
