macOS Powerchime and Bootchime redirects to headphones

Open Human79 opened this issue 3 years ago • 11 comments

Can you give credit to the author (Yes, it's me) who made the mute work in CX20724. macOS Powerchime and Bootchime redirects to headphones. Any ideas?

I don't want to be disrespectful. I just want to be friends and work together to make this work.

Oh, I am very sorry, I actually forgot to check the repo for a long time Yea, I will give you credit! Also I researched the problem of redirection to headphones, and I actually don't know why it redirects to headphones instead of system speakers. I think this is or:

  1. A problem with my config, and I need a right device path for the speakers
  2. An AppleALC problem, so we need to find where is the problem and submit a pull request with a fix

I apologize as I think was my for comment. I think it's more of a AppleALC problem as it's not working with my other model's as well. I would love if you we both identify and fix the issue in AppleALC and submit a PR. Do you have any idea where it's gone wrong? Regards.

I think it is or

  1. Somewhere in my config
  2. AppleALC bad configuration Possibly the second, but i cant see where it can be broken

Hey! I made the boot chime work!

Human79 avatar Sep 02 '21 11:09 Human79

wait wot tell right now how did you do that 🔫

Hehehe.... So, as it Stands out, some Conxexant codecs don't support 44.1k sampling rate, So I upsampled the boot chime file to 48k sampling rate and it worked! Do note that its still a hit or miss and you may need to reset nvram for it to work. Some other sampling rates may work better and I think I'll hav to experiment more. To save your time, I'll attach the modified file and you can replace it. Also these are the settings you'll want to have in the config.plist for Conxexant 20724. Also, I'll try the same for the charging sound and let you know.

Key Type Value
AudioCodec Number 0
AudioDevice String PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1F,0x3)
AudioOut Number 0:headset, 1:speaker

Big thanks! I will also try the charging sound aside of the boot chime, and let you know if it works I will later update this comment if everything worked/failed

UPDATE: Nothing worked as intended. No charging sound, no boot chime, nothing :(

Can I see your EFI? Also, it would be good if we can continue on discord rather than cluttering your repo. It works either way for me.
