I reported the bug to Kitware. That's why they released 3.29.2. Have to wait until Github Actions updates to 3.29.2.
Are you under X11 or Wayland? I think XFCE is X11 only. I cannot reproduce your problem with Gnome, so you might want to bring this up with the XFCE...
