Request for a New Release
First of all, thank you for your work on this project. We are heavily relying on it.
I was wondering if you’d consider cutting a new release sometime soon?
We have a dependency on this unreleased git commit: https://github.com/gfx-rs/rspirv/commit/e19c11fdb30295127cff1d018189bd436892415e. In order to release our crate on crates.io we have currently hidden the problematic code behind a feature.
No rush of course, but the sooner we get rid of the feature hack the better, thank you! 😄
@MarijnS95 there's been quite a few updates since the last release. What are the hopes of getting a new release with spirv 1.4 support in any time soon?
@MarijnS95 (or someone else) do you have a general timeline on a new release. I would like to accept https://github.com/gfx-rs/wgpu/pull/8251, but that would require an rspirv/spirv release by December 17th (the v28 wgpu release)
I haven't been the release manager for rspirv yet (but did publish spirv once apparently). This is still a gfx-rs crate, though I could try to help out as I've been taking over most/all maintenance anyway. There is still the pending SDK update and I want to rewrite the completely broken extinst support, but after that we can cut a release which is hopefully well in time.
Alright, rspirv is a bit of a blind spot for us as the teams are basically completely separate; I'm personally not even sure of the organizational history, but let me know how the wgpu team can help get over the line :)
