" Unfortunately PhantomJS cannot be installed automatically"

Open jackfranklin opened this issue 11 years ago • 3 comments

I was going to make this PR, but thought there might be a reason so I'd best ask first.

Is there a reason PhantomJS can't be installed either through [https://www.npmjs.org/package/phantomjs], or using Grunt's Jasmine plugin which AFAIK bundles PhantomJS with it? I think that this might be the case, in which point I'd suggest perhaps the README is simply outdated?

As I said, I'm happy to make the change but thought before I did I'd check as I might have misunderstood or be treading on territory already well trodden :)

I think when I wrote those contributing instructions, I hadn't found a reliable way to download Phantom via node at the time. If that has changed (and it seems like it has), then we should definitely scrub the README and update those instructions.

Would you mind double checking that installing PhantomJS through that library works with the Grunt Jasmine plugin?

Sure - I've never downloaded this plugin locally so it will be a good test (I can only verify for Mac though). I'll do it tomorrow :)

Sounds good, thanks Jack!
