[QUESTION] System requests password and login after installation

Open GuiSousa135 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

When I boot up my UmbrelOS 1.1.2 system for the first time after a clean install, it asks for a login and password, and every time I do, it says "incorrect password", even if the system is just being installed from zero.

All I want is to install the system from zero and use my UmbrelOS.

That's the standard linux tty prompt. You don't have to use it. Go to http://umbrel.local on any device connected to the same network as your server and you should be greeted by Umbrel's onboarding.

If umbrel.local is not found
  1. Log in (username: umbrel, password: umbrel)
  2. Run ip address
  3. Find an ip address that starts with 192.168. or 10. and does not have a / after it
  4. Use http://<ip>

If you do happen to need to login to through the tty prompt, the correct way to do so is to use "umbrel" as the login, then use your password.

Its the same credentials used to connect via ssh.

ssh [email protected] yourpassword
