Xfce Installer issue - very minor
Summary
Due to a phishing attack this morning on my Xfce laptop, I decided to reinstall the system in order to be absolutely sure that nothing remains on the device from that exploit. I've noticed before that when I install Xfce, the default four workspaces aren't centered in the bottom panel, but are placed immediately to the left of the system tray. Thus, they appear to end up immediately next to the Blueman icon.
One of the first things I do when I install an Xfce system is to modify the panel by adding a spacer to the right of those workspaces, and setting its properties to Expand and Transparent. That fairly well centers the workspace switcher in the bottom panel, but a couple of oddities remain, which I just now figured out.
I just realized that the bottom panel already includes a spacer in that location, but its properties are not set to Expand. They are set to Transparent, so it's easy not to be aware that the spacer is actually there. When I add a spacer and move it to the left to where I need it, I need to move it past that hidden spacer to place it next to the workspace switcher. I now realize what I've been moving it past. And when I set the Expand property for my spacer, it expands the other one as well, leaving the vertical bar visible between them.
The solution is simply to make sure that the original spacer between the workspace switcher and the system tray is set to Expand when the system is installed.
Because this is so trivial, I'm not going to fill out much more of this report, but feel free to ask me about anything that I haven't made clear. It's likely that the Xfce-beta .ISO will be replaced soon, and I wanted to make sure this got some attention before that happens.
