Implements #1134.

Requires code from https://github.com/getsentry/sentry-native/pull/1443 (and then an SDK update).

https://github.com/getsentry/sentry-native/pull/1443 was merged so now we're waiting for the next Native SDK release.

I’ve also fixed the new native method name and updated this branch with the latest changes from main.
