[import_gplus] plugin does not work with current Takeout data
Hi all, the Takeout data of Google+ is kind of a mess. Well, Google has been fiddling around with its social network for so long now, I am not surprised a tiny bit.
Current state is that posts are stored as HTML files (not JSON anymore as presumed by the plugin), images are spread in multiple folders, and date formats - well, the more the better...(I've written down some more details and an approach to a solution in this post).
I don't know if it's worth the effort to fix this because it is not unlikely that this won't work anymore in the near future.
Sigh. I suppose if someone has not exported his gplus data yet, he doesn't really care about it :-(
You are probably right. Maybe this plugin should be flagged as legacy or something (this would also apply to the import twitpic plugin because the site doesn't exist anymore).
