import_tweets

Open jjconti opened this issue 10 years ago • 8 comments

I'm planning to implement import_tweets. Version V0.1 will:

  • read from Twitter provided json files for a user
  • present each tweet asking the user if adding it or not
  • have a non-interactive parameter
  • have a parameter to filter replies
  • generate rst posts, one per day with tweets
  • (probably) download images and include them in the posts

Ideas or suggestions?

I mentioned this elsewhere, but it would be useful to make aggregate posts. Like "this week on Twitter". Either by time period (hours, day, weeks??) or number of tweets.

Is import_twitter a good name or should it be called import_tweets?

Another idea: resolve t.co redirects to their actual destination. (Follow only one-redirect and no more.)

Titles will be "Tweets from DAY"

@Aeyoun seems urls came already expanded in their JSON:

"urls" : [ {
      "indices" : [ 112, 134 ],
      "url" : "http:\/\/t.co\/3zuZme3515",
      "expanded_url" : "http:\/\/www.cba24n.com.ar\/content\/el-voto-electronico-es-problematico-caro-e-ineficiente",
      "display_url" : "cba24n.com.ar\/content\/el-vot\u2026"
    } ]

What if I want "tweet of week"?

@ralsina, would be interesting to pull in weekly tweet summaries from @GetNikola into the blog. Could even be automated.

@jjconti do you get retweet and favorite counts? Could be interesting to put the tweets with the highest engagement at the top of the digests as they’re pretty damned sure to be the most interesting once in a given time period.

Feel free to ignore me, the both of you. I’m just spewing out ideas that I think could be useful. ;)

No you don't.

The oldest tweets don't have the urls field completed. For these http://longurl.org/api can be used.
