Prevent creation of empty metadata files

Currently, a meta data file is always created no matter if this is necessary or not (when sorting is disabled and no template is set). Maybe there could be a files section option that prevents the creation of these files so as not to clutter the folder with files that are not needed.

That‘s a good idea. Maybe it‘s even possible to do this automatically (don‘t create it if there would be no fields inside it).
