NFR: level collapse/expand in left menu

I really love the learn2 theme/skeleton!

While adding pages, the left menu gets really crowded Selecting a top-level menu-item in the left menu causes all other menu-items to collapse (great!) Is it possible to have this behavior for all subsequent levels in the left menu? It would help if it would only show parents and children of the first level by default....

Probably a duplicate of #53 +1 this, I would like this option to be included in the theme. I currently only have a single top level item and then multiple children. The menu is cluttered because it's fully expanded all the time. Edit: I just tried enabling the "Top Level Version"and it does solve part of the issue, but having the option to also collapse the sub-items per level would be nice.

I see where the general idea for this theme is coming from: readthedocs :-) What I meant is the behaviour (collapsing and expanding) in the menu in this site e.g. gallium
Is this doable for the Learn2 theme?
