Define Swatches not naming colors in inventory

Open megaroeny opened this issue 10 years ago • 3 comments

Is "Define Swatches" supposed to name the swatches when they are generated in the Color Inventory? They aren't in the latest version of Sketch 3.2.2. If not, what is the different between Color Inventory and Define Swatches?

Your ReadMe page is basically empty, so I am asking here, thanks

I'm also unable to rename the colors it either crashes or fails to do anything when selecting Define Swatches - same Skech version as above

I wouldnt mind manually naming them if I had access to the JSON file...

Ah, I've got it

  1. Create the Color Inventory for the first time
  2. Select every swatch GROUP you want to rename, then select Define Swatches
  3. The wizard takes you through each swatch - name them as TYPE > NAME. For example I want my accent colours grouped together, so I go Accents > Red, Accents > Green etc

That seems to be working, but there is a bunch of crashing going on. Each time that happens I delete the Color inventory artboard and go from scratch

i was confused first how this was supposed to work, now i have been succesfully naming swatches, but the naming convention doesnt seem to impact the colors order.

also defined colors also appear as undefined aswell.
