Open Editors (sidebar tabs) not working
Type: Bug
In VSCode, you can display tabs in the File Explorer sidebar as "Open Editors". This is quite nice and my preferred way of interacting with tabs. Even though Open Editors are enabled in Preferences, they do not appear in Cursor's File Explorer sidebar
VSCode expected:

I just faced the same problem. Even if I uninstall and re-install cursor, the problem persists.
It appears others are also noticing the same things I've been missing 😄
View -> Open view... -> [type "editor"] -> [hit enter] Worked perfectly for me
right click on Explorer and check Open editors field
@Delagardi omg thank you! I've hidden that field maybe 30x in the past 6 years by mistake and each and every time I have to google the fix for it. Such a stupid feature
The 'Open editors' pane no longer seems to exist in Cursor 0.50.5. Trying to navigate open files in the tabs along the top is just too annoying. I'm probably just going back to vscode for now.
@dprentis I'm using recent cursor version (1.1.6) and true, it's irritating that it's not visible by default. But you can open it exactly as @finnmerlett wrote above.
You are right, thanks - not sure what I did wrong there 🤦 😄
Is this feature gone again? This is from Cursor 2 on macos. Don't forget that we still need to edit text sometimes it's not all agent all the time 🤣
None of these "open editor" related settings have any effect
Maybe I misunderstood @finnmerlett - nope, the explorer tab itself is not right-clickable.
looks like you can re-enable the Open Editors panel with the Focus on Open Editors command (re-enabling the panel so it can take focus seems like a useful side effect)
