Move Agents and Editor from Top-Left to Right Side with Settings
Problem Description
The current placement of Agents and Editor functionality in the top-left corner of Cursor has changed the default user behavior and is inconvenient to use. The current position doesn't align with user expectations and affects development efficiency.
Specific Issues
- Inconvenient Location: The Agents and Editor features in the top-left corner are inconsistent with traditional IDE layout conventions
- Poor Usability: The current layout makes frequent switching operations cumbersome
- Scattered Features: Settings-related features should be in a unified location for quick access
Proposed Solution
We suggest moving the Agents and Editor functionality to the right side alongside Settings for the following reasons:
- Unified Feature Area: Grouping Settings, Agents, and Editor together in one location aligns better with user expectations and workflow patterns
- Improved Efficiency: Right-side panel layout facilitates quick access and switching without interfering with the main code editing area
- Aligns with Mainstream IDE Patterns: Most IDEs (such as VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, etc.) place settings and tool panels on the right side, which matches user habits
Expected Outcome
- Move Agents and Editor functionality to the right-side panel
- Integrate with Settings in the same area
- Maintain existing functionality, only adjust position
- Provide optional layout configuration to allow users to customize position (optional)

PLEASE!!!
I hate the agents on left side also it mess up with things we get used for years (muscle memory)
Please!
this smells like a dark pattern, I only click on 'agents' due to muscle memory when trying to open the "File" menu
