Does Cursor support sampling as stated in the MCP documentation? I didn't find any info about sampling in cursor

For what it's worth, I ended up going with https://github.com/cjo4m06/mcp-shrimp-task-manager, which doesn't require sampling and it works really well.

I would also like to express strong support for MCP sampling functionality in Cursor. My MCP tools require sampling capabilities to work effectively, as they need to:
Generate dynamic responses - Some of my tools need to create varied outputs based on different sampling parameters Handle complex reasoning tasks - Sampling allows for more sophisticated problem-solving approaches within the MCP context Provide interactive experiences - My tools would benefit from the ability to sample different response strategies
Currently, the lack of sampling support limits the functionality of MCP tools that were designed with this feature in mind. It would be incredibly valuable if Cursor could implement full MCP sampling support as outlined in the official MCP documentation. This feature would unlock much more powerful and flexible MCP tool integrations. I hope the team can prioritize this enhancement!

The sampling feature is essential for trustworthy response generation. I can't wait for the time we will be able to generate content from inside a tool and process it internally. That would be a total game changer.
