No way to reinstall the WSL extension after removing it?

  1. After updating Cursor I ran into issues with WSL, again (this seems to happen on every update and is frustrating)
  2. I removed the WSL extension so I could reinstall it
  3. After removing it, I can no longer find the WSL extension: image
  4. I downloaded and installed "ms-vscode-remote.remote-wsl-0.88.4.vsix" manually but this gives the following error: image
  5. I uninstalled Cursor and reinstalled it again, still no WSL extension

So, we're stuck not being able to work on any WSL project which is frustrating.

I like the idea of Cursor but the continuous issues with WSL are a showstopper for us at the moment. We'll have to migrate back to VSCode until this situation can be improved.
