Terminal in editor area (with split pane or two windows) disables CTRL+K prompt box

1) If you can, please include a screenshot of your problem

Terminal in editor area: can open prompt with CTRL+K and type

2) Please include the name of your operating system

Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

3) If you can, steps to reproduce are super helpful

  • command pallete: > create new terminal in editor area

splitter:

  • drag the terminal tab to the right, creating a new splitter
  • CTRL+K. nothing happens

new pane:

  • drag the terminal tab out of the window, creating a second cursor window.
  • CTRL+K
  • type something, nothing appears

This issue is critical. Ctrl+F is broken too. Cursor team, help.
