[che] REFUSES to accept new listeners because it exceeded its threshold by far
-
- macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 (23D60)
- Just start Cursor.
This has started happening recently but I can't say when. It completely cripples Cursor to the point of being unusable. In my screenshot, the number in the bottom left from the dev tools just keeps growing and growing. Clicks on any part of the UI can take seconds for a response to show up on screen. It's somehow still alive somehow and doesn't crash completely but it's so slow that I can't use it.
Here's an image of Activity Monitor:
This is on Cursor 29.1 but has been there for some days, perhaps weeks. I can't say exactly because I don't use Cursor daily.
I should note that I use this in an enterprise environment. A proxy is used, as well as VPN. However, this was not a problem before.. this problem was introduced recently.
That error message in the post title also doesn't sound too great.
Thanks for reporting this. Do you have any reproduction steps? Does this happen immediately when you open Cursor?
The steps to reproduce are really simple: open Cursor. And yes, it happens immediately after opening from what I can tell.
Sadly, this is still the case with Cursor 0.31.3.
To be fair, this ONLY happens on my work Mac, where networking is forced through a VPN. A proxy is also involved.
On my private Mac, where I have no such restrictions, I cannot observe this.
I made a GIF of the craziness in dev tools:
Here's another GIF of how the errors and warnings are racking up instantly after starting Cursor:
If I scroll all the way to the top of the console output I can see this:
It's a "small" annoyance at this point because I can always just use my private Mac for whatever I need to do with Cursor. But this DOES render Cursor completely unusable on my work Mac.
I hope this helps.
