Importer Plugin not showing on rest api

After setting WEBUI_IMPORTER_ENABLED to true, I can see that it's working on the webUI, but it's not working in geoserver rest API.

I'm guessing it's just not been integrated with the rest api then. If you're interested in giving it a try I'd be glad to give you some directions on how to do it.
