Scaling factors for 3-d (xyz) emissions in HEMCO

Dear GCST,

I have two specific questions about applying diurnal scaling factors on 3-d (xyz) emissions in HEMCO.

(1) If there is a diurnal scale factor,

26 GEIA_TOD_FOSSIL 0.45/0.45/0.6/0.6/0.6/0.6/1.45/1.45/1.45/1.45/1.4/1.4/1.4/1.4/1.45/1.45/1.45/1.45/0.65/0.65/0.65/0.65/0.45/0.45 - - - xy unitless 1

can I apply it only to a specific vertical level in a 3-dimensional (xyz) emission inventory. For instance, the NEI inventory has up to six vertical levels for certain variables. And I'd like to apply the above diurnal scale factors to all NEI emissions in the second vertical layer, what should I do in HEMCO?

(2) Can we scale 2-d emission diurnally and vertically at the same time. For instance, I'd like to turn the 2-d CEDS CO emission into 3-d CO emission with 4 vertical layers and has unique diurnal variation for each vertical layer. On my end, I could prepare 4 different diurnal scaling factors, but I don't know how to set up them in HEMCO to the CEDS CO emission.

Would it be possible to show me some examples for realizing the above two objectives?

Thanks, Yanshun
