type.today's review of the Cyrillic glyphs
https://type.today/en/journal/old-style#EBGaramond
The issues they point out are:
- The Latin glyphs seem to be traced directly from the specimen (this is a core part of the font that cannot really be changed, unless we wanted to redraw every single glyph)
- ц, щ have different descenders
- "A very long tongue in э"
- "The з is falling to the right and there’s too much air on its left side.
- "Ы falls apart in Italic"
- The kerning is bad in lowercase italic
Additionally, it would probably be good to review the design of Cyrillic in Ysabeau and Cormorant, so that EB Garamond can be nicely paired with Ysabeau and Cormorant like it can in Latin.
