[Android:] Screen dims within the main view

When viewing the 'onboarding' and when viewing one of the sample books (the Eyre) and irrespective of the app's dark/light mode, the brightness drops dramatically to the point that reading is hard. When I leave the main view, the brightness is restored.

ZenFone 8. Android 13. FB Reader 3.7.4.
