No execution in OS X

I've installed the package using PackageControl, updated the sc_dir property to /Applications/SuperCollider in the SuperCollider.sublime-settings file, restarted Sublime Text, and started sclang. The files are recognised as SuperCollider files and syntax highlighting works. I just can't get any sound, any postln output, or any indication the server is running. I'm using OS X 10.8.4 and Sublime Text 2.0.1 build 2217. I would be grateful for any pointers.
