Communications in gentoo-dotnet project

We have the gitter.im channel (https://github.com/gentoo/dotnet/issues/34) we have IRC channel #gentoo-dotnet @ freenode We have the ability to publish our pages on Github Pages (with ATOM/RSS feeds and optionally comments). Gitter and IRC can be complemented with Matrix (to be completely self-standing and distributed).

But the main problem is not the absence of communication medium. The main problem is absence of motivation. Not everyone want to have an completely proofed system. The Debian team does their work good enough, and it's all what one need to work with dotnet in Linux (as in "cheap operating system instead of windows, which doesn't require paid license"). Gentoo is for special people, who want the completely verified system. And there are too few of us.

If one want to get results more quickly, and don't want to implement everything themselves, they should donate money to gentoo-dotnet team lead (currently @cnd (Cynede as in https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Dotnet)), several million dollars from crowdfunding will do, I think. Cynede will hire additional developers and the problem will be solved.

@ostroffjh asks Is there a better place to discuss where each of us gets stuck, and maybe someone else can find a solution to that particular problem?

Earlier the Gentoo forum rejected a proposal (https://bugs.gentoo.org/656798) to create section for dotnet, but in era of Web 3.0 we don't need to rely on the single provider.

Let's join to Hubzilla network! (it allows to create and publish webpages and blog-posts, and provides notifications). I think this is "more social", as requested.

Several millon dollars will be indeed game changer... I blame gitter and really don't like it because it always works wrong for me so I avoid it but I'm on IRC and discord (link in readme) and also you can mail me or contact via issue on that repository. There are small count of people who have interest but still they want chat, what really can help here is some schedule. We can schedule talk on IRC (or discord) on some time if there will be enough people and by that we can resolve some problems, some gentoo teams are doing it with success (kernel for example)

I don't carre so much about the particular platform we use, but I'd really like to see more visible activity. gitter works OK for me, and I'm also OK with IRC. I have not used discord, but might try, and I would rather not start with yet another new platform. What I see as a problem is that even on these issue pages, the discussion is very sporadic, and then it is never clear if any progress is being made or not. I know everyone who contributes here has limited time, so I am hoping that there can be some coordination of activities, or at least a more explicit plan on how we can work through the backlog of all open gentoo dotnet related activities. One thing I've been thinking about is all the discussion of nuget in within other topics. I finally got it installed and did a self update. I know there are potential issues with that approach -- but is there any possibility to create a package like perl-gcpan? That uses CPAN (Perl's equivalent of nuget) to create ebuilds for requested perl modules. It still has some problems, but I think the concept is good.
Personally, I still don't really understand all of dotnet and how the pieces fit together, and I am only using it to try to build one application I want to use (f-spot photo manager), but I'm willing to help however I can to make the whole gentoo dotnet environment easier to use for those who don't care about it directly, but just want to use it as a tool for something else.

This is related to imported content only (e.g. your contacts posts from foreign hubs) but your own post and comments will be store without any limitations.
