Remove stats page from AmiGO

Open ValWood opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

GO has 2 pages with statistics with partially overlapping content:

Home page https://www.geneontology.org/stats.html See section changes in the GO resource over time Number of annotations by evidence

Amigo https://amigo.geneontology.org/amigo/base_statistics

Also, I question the label of Experimental annotations by assigner Because I know that Uniprot have not made 4M EXP annotations

And Experimental annotation publications by assigner This is not publication because PomBase does not have 26K publications

Can the labels be reviewed/corrected, the usefulness and content of the graphs be assessed, and ideally a single statistics page be presented. If this is not possible could the 2 disparate sources of statistics be clearly linked and the rationale for 2 different pages be explained somewhere (ideally all annotation status statistics would be collected together)

I think the labels are confusing because one 1 column out of 2 is labeled: the first bar is GO Central (IBAs)

ideally a single statistics page be presented

I agree

true, but the titles of all Experimental annotation publications by assigner Experimental annotations by assigned Experimental annotations by species

are ALL incorrect because all 3 graphs include non-experimental annotations

Personally, at this point, I think the AmiGO ones can go. Any reason not to head that way?

I agree, lets remove the AmiGO stats pages

Talking to @pgaudet , will hide first, clean up later. Will point to "new" stats.
