Does not work on Thunderbird 52

I recently upgraded thunderbird to version 52. (52.1 to be exact). It seems like the addon is not working. On my existing profile, thunderbird does not even try to connect...

Disabled (or broken) in firefox 55 ; doesn't seem to work in firefox-esr either (52)

My distro (Fedora) recently updated to firefox 55, which broke this add-on... but I didn't notice until all my passwords stopped being populated. Not having much experience with coding firefox...

Not sure exactly what happened, but as soon as I installed the plugin, there were tons and tons of bash processes running as my user and they were all using...
