Have you any plans to release an app on Google Play?

Release early, release often. And make clear it is alpha/beta/whatever. ;)

Consider that some people want to develop server side integration (e.g. like me, in python), but do not want to deal with compiling/packaging java android apps, but want to have one for testing.

So your "users" at first are these other developers, not end users.
