In the official documentation, it suggests to install 3.0.3 but on source it was upgraded to 3.0.4.

It's not like they've upgraded this yesterday, it was months ago. Few people's PRs were deleted. Will have to wait what would they do about my PR.

And not to mention, when you are installing, it tries to compile css/js but if the host doesn't have more than 12 gigs of ram and same amount of swap, it fails.

Seriously?! 12 GB of RAM is a bit insane for 'self hosting' mastodon! Hopefully there are ways to work around that requirement. I'm not going to pay hundreds of bucks a month for a VPS...

tested this on my local proxmox vm and on DO. On both memory usage exceeded 110% and got a call from DO, they thought crypto scam.

g-2vcpu-8gb, they are 60+ bucks a month. Rep was friendly but he was furious though.
